The Story Behind The Conversation Part Two: "This was our entry for The First Annual Francis Ford Coppola Presents Rosso & Bianco Theater Movie Contest. My cameraman Brian and I found out at the last minute and took that Thursday off to meet the Monday deadline. Submissions were only allowed to run one minute, have no animation and be about the everyday family aspects of wine drinking. To me this including bosoms, vineyards, olive trees, plowed fields, velvet dresses and an imaginary cell phone conversation with Mr. Coppola. Francis Ford Coppola is one of the worlds top five greatest directors-EVER. My nickname for him is "Cherry Cobbler" because he talks so lovingly about learning how to cook that all American staple in his High School Home Economics class and I LOVE to cook too. "Finian's Rainbow", "Apocalypse Now", "The Conversation" and of course "Peggy Sue Got Married" filmed at my alma mater Santa Rosa High comprise some of my favourite films and some of the best work to ever hit the screen. "Finian's Rainbow" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finian%27s_Rainbow_%28film%29 is an unfairly over looked gem of Coppola's oeuvre and a staggeringly bright achievement in big screen craftsmanship. It's one of the last true full scale Hollywood musicals and shot on location around the beautiful countryside of Napa. I doubt there is any 29 year old on the planet who could create what he created in today's studio system. Watch the special edition DVD and you'll get the picture. Better yet as a double feature with "Apocalypse Now!" We didn't win the Bianco-Rossi Film contest ( two animated features did!) but it was still a wonderful experience and I not only recommend Coppola's wines but his virtual film website American Zeotrope as well. Sebastian independent director of "Hot Rod Girls Save The World" for a song called "Killing Machine" about Amazonian revenge; a potential perfect marriage of singer and song available in five mind boggling mixes including house techno and acoustic. Amanda's stage acting credits are too numerous to note here but include Opera Non Troppo's "King Arthur" (2002) and "Dido and Aeneas" (2000) Super Amanda has also performed regularly at both The Starry Plough and LePena Cultural Center in Berkeley and at Columbia College Jazz Festival (1999). In April 2006 Super Amanda made a very memorable guest appearance on British singer-songwriter Rachel Fuller's live webcast chat show "In The Attic" appearing alongside The Who's Pete Townshend and co-host singer-songwriter Mikey Cuthbert. Pete Townshend famously described Super Amanda to Rolling Stone magazine as being 'larger than life.' She has served as it's educational director and web developer since 1999. In Spring 2006 she met with renowned British politician and peace activist, The Right and Honourable Tony Benn, to discuss Paul Robeson's effect on post war England. She also was an adviser on the Carin T Ford book: " Paul Robeson: I Want to Make Freedom Ring" Enslow Publishers (2008), the first high school textbook specifically written about Paul Robeson for U.S. schools. A visually exciting performer, her statuesque form and bombshell rocker ebullience offer a striking contrast to her down to earth intellectual side which is also a large part of her appeal as audiences know there will never be a dull moment when she takes the stage or sits down for a chat.
